Aldo Tolino :”Crumbled faces’’ & ‘’Interferenz’’

Austrian artist Aldo Tolino’s human portraits are the outcome of a multi-step creative loop which goes along the lines of: shooting a portrait, printing it on paper, then creasing it, tucking it and folding it until a brand new facial expression is created before shooting the printed-portrait-turned-sculpture for the final result. During this process, the more you rearrange the shape of the triangle grid on the surface of the printed-portraits, the more facial expressions you generate. Every timeTolino photographs the geometrically folded three-dimensional sculptural-object, a new portrait of the same person is created. The result is a series of photographs that masterfully portray ”crumbled faces‘’ that serve to open a dialogue between portraiture and sculpture.

Aldo Tolino is currently working on a book project entitled ‘’interferenz’’ which takes a closer look at topics such as paper, folding, image, object, sculpture, texture and recursion. His never-ending loop between image and sculptural objects can also be viewed on his official website.

Good post. I learn something new and challenging on sites I stumbleupon on a
daily basis. It’s always interesting to read through content from other authors and practice a little something from
    their sites.

Hi, There’s no doubt that your site might be having browser compatibility problems.
Whenever I look at your blog in Safari, it looks fine
but when opening in IE, it’s got some overlapping issues.
I merely wanted to give you a quick heads up! Besides that,
    excellent website!

Moreover, the proxy server, which may be anonymous or transparent, will make a connection to Facebook and retrieve the website.

They change settings in the browser to go through the proxy instead of the school
network. I happened to find out about them when I went to China and was blocked from Facebook.
